The First Christian Church of Texas City hosts our southernmost Blue Theology Outpost, located on the Galveston Bay. The church is just around the corner from the Texas City Dike and fishing pier, where we'll spot pelicans, hermit crabs, laughing gulls, and bottlenose dolphins. Home to one of the nation's largest oil refineries, Texas City is the perfect place to explore the connection between environmental justice and faith. FCC Texas City has an amazing "plarn" ministry: recycling single-use plastic bags by knitting them into sleeping mats for unhoused locals. We hope you'll join us this summer for a week of learning and serving in the Galveston Bay!

Costs & Provisions
At least two adults must accompany a youth group. (We recommend two adults minimum and then at least one adult for every five youth). You will be on your own for transportation and food (you'll have the use of a kitchen, showers, and sleeping space/bunkbeds). Cost of a week-long experience: $550/student Kayaking and porpoise watching opportunities available at extra cost. |
