Blue Theology is a place where current science in marine biology meets a theology of creation justice. Blue Theology hosts groups for a week of learning and serving experiences in ocean conservation.
Who is this program for?
We mainly host church youth groups, but adult and intergenerational groups are welcome too!
Where are you located?
Blue Theology has several locations around the country: two outposts in California (Pacific Grove and Newport Beach), one outpost in Texas (Texas City), and one outpost in Beaufort, NC.
WHEN DO PROGRAMS START?
Programs run mid-June through mid-August. Registration is open for Summer 2023! Contact us for current availability, specific to each outpost.
What are the sleeping arrangements?
We provide twin-sized air mattresses. Please bring your own pillow and bedding (provided at the Beaufort, NC outpost).
is food provided?
You must provide your own meals (with the exception of our Beaufort, NC Outpost). You will have full access to a kitchen, equipped with cooking utensils/appliances. Congregations host one BBQ/Elder's Dinner for each group!
will showers be available?
Yes! You will have access to multiple showers. Most outposts do not have washer/dryers (location-dependent).
Is transportation provided?
No, you must provide your own transportation for the entire week.
How many students can I bring?
15-30 per group.
How many chaperones does a group need?
At least two adults must accompany a youth group. We recommend one adult for every five youth.
